Tioh Park n Play, Siapin Horticulture

    You need the job done right? That’s where Siapin Horticulture will come useful to you. We specialize in making the landscape the way that you want it. In Hollywood, at Tioh Park and Play, they were in need of a new parking structure so we got right on that. Outside of the parking structure we installed new decomposed granite walkways and trees surrounding the structure. To give more of an “outdoorsy” vibe we also added boulders for seating. We also planted a vegetable garden for the students. This was all accomplished with us using sustainable landscaping.

Occidental College

In Los Angeles California, Occidental College needed a lot of work done for their athletic complex. As Siapin Horticulture, we will be certain that the job comes out just how the client asks. We started by rebuilding the Tennis Pavilion with an edible garden including Guava trees, raspberries, and blueberries. Every plant had some sort of fruit. Around this, we installed groundcover to prevent weeds. We also built a new pool and gave it a gratifying vicinity by stringing vine cables to trellises and also cover the walls with vines around the pool. Around the tracks we added new decomposed walkways. Like usual, we used a drought tolerant system to keep the environment the best we can. To top it all off we planted grass around the meeting area, now it’s a great place to grab some tea or coffee and go sit at. 

Starbucks

Here at Siapin Horticulture Inc, Including OC Father and Son Gabriel Siapin and Daniel Siapin we make sure that the job that’s needed, gets done right. The new Starbucks in Santa Ana needed a new landscaping job to be done to top everything off. The landscape we had to make was pretty basic but we made sure to still make this starbucks have pleasant surroundings. We did this job as this Starbucks was being built, so coordinating on time was something we had to keep in mind. Our installations were environmentally friendly. We installed drought tolerant planting, which is very beneficial in grouping plants in landscaping. Drought tolerant plants release moisture in the air. We also installed new drip irrigation grasses with a bioswale around it. Bioswales are helpful in recharging groundwater and they also convey stormwater runoff and remove pollution. We accomplished all this with low water usage.

It’s always nice to get your coffee at starbucks and sit outside and enjoy everything around you. Luckily there’s an enjoyable landscape surrounding it. We put in a new landscape mounding which gave it a nice touch. Also, we included some new tree shrubs. 

USC

    Here at Siapin Horticulture, we do our best to use all of our specialties to exceed people’s expectations and construct things exactly how they ask. Starting off at the University Southern California COL/URH building, the contractor demoed all the plants to do repairs so we installed a new building and a new landscape to manufacture a wide planting, new style campus, and match the planting plan. By doing that, we had to use ornamental grasses and drought tolerant ground cover which gave a satisfying aura to the landscape. Our job at USC was big on plants so we also installed lomandra plants, carissa ground cover, raphiolepis, and new sod.  

At the Leavey Library ,they had a large damaged area so our job in this section was to repair but also add a new parking lot and repair new landscaping. The biggest part was adding new asphalt and parking lot striping. We also installed some new trees, soil mounds, and some new grass. For the Virginia Ramo Hall of Music, our goal was to put new drainage around the building, add new walkways, also we regraded new landscape and trees. We had to add more shade to the north side mainly. We built on  new large sycamore trees, new sodding around the building, dianella plants, and philodendron plants. 

2600 Project

As Siapin Horticulture, we specialize in renovating buildings and also making the surroundings more appealing. In Long Beach, Signal Hill, we worked on repairing the 2600 medical building and fixing up a few things near it. This job had a "bioswale" where all the water had an area to restore water on the sight. Bioswales are very beneficial in regenerating groundwater. The sight was also arrogated with a drip irrigation system, which is a drought-tolerant plant with a system powered with solar power using no electricity.We installed all of those at the parking area across the street, surrounding the parking spots. We also worked on the walking area and added on decomposed walkways. Parking in this area and walking when you need a breather is now much more pleasant. The lack of water is a large problem here in California due to its severe drought causing the agriculture to diminish. To prevent this from happening, bioswales can tribute to a positive aspect of the environment. It is enjoyable for the workers who work at 2600 to experience our growth in making nature flourish.

Fox Plaza, Los Angeles

A commercial building patio to be proud of.

A nice patio that is also environmentally friendly is something a lot of people want to be around. We were able to make that happen here at Siapin Horticulture. During this high profile project in Fox Plaza in Century City, we installed a new patio for the office building. Aside from just adding a new seating area, this project was unique because of the "epic system", which captures all rainwater on sight and stores in the pipes on the ground which feeds the plants. This is a better technique than just recycling the water. Something else that might stand out is the drip irrigation which also has the potential to save water by granting the water to slowly go down to the roots of the plants, that way the water can most likely go directly into the roots and help avoid evaporation. 

We made sure to install all the plants close together so it was like an instant landscape. Even with limited space on sight, we were able to coordinate with other contractors to get all materials in a timely manner. 

Western Asset Plaza

Building a Light weight Court Yard & Commons area

Here at Siapin Horticulture we sometimes have to navigate many technical details when designing a landscape project take for example this job at Western Asset Plaza in Los Angeles where we had to blow in “lightweight soil” to reduce the weight load on the planters because underneath is a parking structure. We also kept in mind that though we have had plenty of rain here in So Cal we are still in drought mode.

Planting A Palm Tree in the Middle of American Apparel Retail Store. Melrose District.

The Palm tree is synonymous with the Los Angeles scene, Siapin Horticulture proved that in a urbanized city setting you can still keep that “Los Angeles” or “California Vibe” by planting a palm tree right in the middle of your design or in this case an American Apparel retail space. This project had many details including perfectly positioning the palm in place and installing a access door for proper maintenance.

Patio Facelift with Orco Pavers

It just goes to show with a minimum budget, you can transform your average patio or deck into something that is inviting for the whole family to use  and
impress your guests when you have afternoon tea.

We went with Orco Block Pavers, the “Mediterranean” style.  With only 6 properly picked plants including Little Ollie, Agave, and some tall grasses, you can see the difference.  Cannonsurf did the Western Cedar Awning and cocktail pallet table.

Artificial Grass The Right Way!

Choosing the right artificial turf is very important. Siapin Horticulture can walk you through a number of choices to make your property blend into its natural surroundings as well as make your landscape stand out. Synthetic turf fields are becoming more common because they have greater durability and lower maintenance costs compared with grass. Here in the States, about 98 percent of synthetic turf fields use granulated recycled tire rubber or crumb rubber as infill. The granules fill in the space between synthetic blades of grass to provide soft cushioning, aid drainage, and help prevent injuries when athletes run, slide or take a tumble.

Gelson's Supermarket

Here at Gelson's Market in Century City, we wanted to bring some green to the entrance which really seemed to be a concrete jungle. We went with some modern flower boxes and drought friendly succulents to really change things up. Siapin Horticulture is well known for landscape design and construction even in a downtown "concrete jungle" habitat.

Chapman Plaza Koreatown, Los Angeles

Chapman plaza located in Koreatown is a Los Angeles landmark. Dan and the Siapin Horticulture crew stepped up to the plate to facelift the historic property without taking the history out of this now bustling little plaza that is home to a dozen cool eateries including the Quarters Korean BBQ. Siapin Horticulture installed new trellis on the back wall for the plant life to grow upwards as well as add some classic terracotta pots to the location. Check out the video and the photos below.

The Village at Los Carneros Goleta California

Housing tracks in California now days have to be slightly more thought out as far as Landscaping design goes. n this job feature we have this brand new housing project in the great town of Goleta California showing a Xeriscape which is a form or a style of landscape design requiring little or no irrigation or other maintenance, used in arid regions. A garden or landscape requiring little or no irrigation. Also we did some new sun shade covers for the bike racks we also put into this project. We seem to be growing our list of services now days along with pavers, brick work and fence design and construction.

American Martyrs Church Manhattan beach Ca

Here is a look into our recent project for the beautiful American Martyrs Church in Manhattan beach Ca. Keeping the Drought in mind as well as plants that can thrive in a cool coastal climate we kept a well balance of plants/shrubs/flowers, you will also notice the retainer wall we also installed. The Siapin Horticulture crew also custom fit some artificial turf in the right areas to save additional water for the the church. Full Video in the gallery below.
